“Evaluating Feminist Arguments for and against a Universal Basic Income: What Does the Evidence Tell Us?” – WiSE Workshop
Dr. Caitlin McLean, Ailsa McKay Postdoctoral Fellow at the Women in Scotland’s Economy (WiSE) Research Centre, led a workshop on 20 May in the second of a two part-series on basic income and gender inequality.
Dr. McLean examined existing evidence for feminist claims about basic income proposals including whether it is likely to reduce within-household inequalities between men and women, for example, by increasing women’s economic autonomy via individualised benefits.
