Morag Gillespie will give evidence to the Scottish Parliament’s Economy, Energy and Tourism Committee on Wednesday 23 April 2014. Morag will be part of a panel of witnesses discussing welfare and equality in connection with the Committee’s Inquiry into ‘Scotland’s economic future post 2014’.
The panel will discuss the implications of the two possible outcomes of the referendum vote and Morag will focus on options on welfare from an equalities perspective, including key themes of alternative approaches to social security, such as citizens basic income, as well as measures such as childcare that have the potential to reflect the needs of women in Scotland and which could contribute to reducing their risk of poverty.
