“The access to student services available on campus is brilliant.”

2nd-year Learning Disability Nursing student Kenzie Derrick discusses her time at the university so far, the opportunities offered to her and her future plans and goals.

Why you chose to study your course at GCU?

GCU is one of the only universities that offer the course that I am studying and the access to student services available on campus.

Favourite thing about studying your course at GCU?

The wide range of skills that I get to learn within the interprofessional simulation centre and the wide variety of placements on offer.

What opportunities have been offered to you through studying your course at GCU?

I was offered in first year to become a student helper at the nursing applicant events and this is something that I have continued doing into my second year.

Has studying your course at GCU prepared you for working life?

Yes.

What is your plan when you finish studying?

To move into my band 5 role as a newly qualified nurse and finally getting to wear my blues.
