The WHO’s Hand Hygiene Day 2021 is just around the corner. The theme this year is “Seconds save lives: clean your hands!”. It aims to promote effective hand hygiene practices/performance at the point of care by all stakeholders, including IPC practitioners, healthcare workers and facility managers, as well as patients and families. In the context of the ongoing Covid-19 Global Pandemic, the message is also extended to vaccinators and the general public and the importance of hand hygiene is undoubtedly vital to and for everyone.
This year SHIP Research group will be collaborating with the Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infection (ARHAI) group at National Services Scotland Health Protection Scotland (HPS) to promote the use of the Six Step technique, in our usual SHIP style! Head on over to our Twitter feed on the 5th of May to see what we have in store!
