CRAIG RANKIN – Craig was a volunteer in the clinic from its inception and continued in this role through to graduating from GCU in 2015. He is currently travelling Australia before commencing the diploma in legal practice in September 2016. He said, “the law clinic taught me valuable client communication skills and helped me to increase and hone my research skills. It gave me a taste of life in the legal world while still at university.”
JACQUELINE ROSS – “I became a volunteer at GCU Law Clinic when it was first launched in January 2014. I was attracted to the idea of providing legal assistance to those who have no other means of accessing justice. Whilst a volunteer at the Law Clinic I had the opportunity of experiencing life as a solicitor. I researched topics of law in order to provide clients with sound legal advice and assistance in relation to housing and welfare. I also had the chance to become involved in the promotional aspects of the Law Clinic which widened my commercial awareness. Since graduating from Glasgow Caledonian University, I have gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Practice and I am now a 1st year Trainee Solicitor at one of the most reputable firms in the Highlands.”
