Student Stories is Glasgow Caledonian University’s blog about student experiences at the University and how those experiences have contributed to their successes.
I studied at GCU because…
I am from Glasgow and I love the city so I wanted to stay close to home. I also liked that it is a popular university for international students so I could meet new people from different cultures.
The support available from the university such as having a personal tutor and access to the learning and development centre.
What’s been your biggest lesson learned?
The biggest lesson I have learned is that in university you have much less help from teachers when it comes to coursework so it is important to make sure you understand everything and complete tasks in advance.
Do you believe we are the University for the Common Good?
Yes because everyone is accepted and supported regardless of race, ability, etc. so it is a positive experience for everyone.
Where are you going next and have your ambitions changed?
I am hoping to move onto a graduate programme in the UK and to possibly pursue a career abroad in the future. My ambitions haven’t changed since starting university.
If we bumped into you on campus, where are you most likely to be and why?
I would most likely be on one of the lower levels of the saltire centre as this is a great place to eat and drink, socialise and study. It is a great area for all activities.
