“It’s a very accepting and inclusive university that makes all its students feel welcome, valued and important.”

2024 Media and Communications graduate Laura O’Neill shares her insight into life at GCU and life after graduating from university.

I chose to study at GCU because…

I loved the community atmosphere, how welcoming everyone was and the personal care given to each student.

The most important aspect of my university experience has been…

The friends I’ve made along the way – the whole experience wouldn’t have been the same without them, especially Fiona who is one of my best friends and even an honorary member of the family.

My biggest lesson learned so far is…

The importance of being confident in my own abilities and believing I can do whatever I put my mind to.

What does it mean to you to study at GCU…

It’s a very accepting and inclusive university that makes all its students feel welcome, valued and important.

I get my inspiration from…

My family and my goals for my career. I want to make my family and myself proud of what I do and what I will become.

My next steps look like…

I have started a festival on the Isle of Iona (Sound of Iona Music Festival) and have already moved to the island permanently and have been working on growing the festival and my skills within the industry.

You are most likely to bump into me…

On the Isle of Iona at our festival or somewhere on the island stressing over it until then!
