2022 Media and Communications graduate Murray Telfer shares his insight into life at GCU and life after graduating from university.
I chose to study at GCU because…
I chose to study at GCU because of the flexibility of their coursework, broad subject choices on offer and the location of its campus. The ability to gain experience in numerous fields under the Media and Communications course has pointed me in the right direction and allowed me to focus on exactly what I wanted to do. Being so close to the beating heart of Glasgow was simply a bonus.
The most important aspect of my university experience has been…
Meeting new people. Being introduced to so many like-minded people, different people, familiar faces and complete strangers changed my University experience. Having been to university before I knew what to expect but the support behind my classmates is what kept me going.
My biggest lesson learned so far is…
It’s okay to not have it all figured out. As sure as I was on the course I still did not know what career I wanted or what kind of person I wanted to be. Experiencing new roles, meeting new friends and studying diverse subjects allowed me to gain a direction and a path to follow.
I’m proud to be part of the University for the Common Good because…
I’m proud to be part of the University for the Common Good because it’s the friendliest and accommodating campus I’ve ever visited.
I get my inspiration from…
Friends, Family and those around me.
My next steps look like…
Applying to as many graduate positions as possible!
