2021 Accounting graduate Kirsty Boyle shares her insight into life at GCU and life after graduating from university.
I chose to study at GCU because…
I choose to study at GCU due to the university culture.
The most important aspect of my university experience has been…
The friendliness of all the lecturers on my course is what stands out for me the most. They were always there to help you or even just have a friendly chat about life. This was so important to me as it helps build confidence in students and you leave feeling like you gained more than just academic knowledge.
My biggest lesson learned so far is…
That I am more capable than I ever realised. I never thought university was for me in life but GCU made me feel like I belonged and gave me the tools to succeed along the way and not only did I complete my BA hons in Accounting here but my MSc in Accounting, Finance and Regulation.
I get my inspiration from…
My family are my inspiration in life, as they’ve been through so much in recent years but you’d never know it. They are so strong and resilient which makes me believe we all can get through anything and achieve everything we want in life.
My next steps look like…
The next step in my career ambitions is to complete my professional accounting exams through CIMA.
You are most likely to bump into me…
When we were allowed on campus you’d most likely have found me on the 1st floor of the library surrounded by loads of cups of tea.
