Continuation of Moving Forward Development Funding Awards

The Moving Forward Development Funding Awards 2010/11 have proved to be very successful. A number of the MFDFAs received additional funding for the 2011/12 acacemic period to roll out/further develop their projects. These include:

MFDFA01 Blogging Placement: the development of reusable learning objects for transition and induction to the placement environment

MFDFA02 Prepare adults to study engineering using best practice in industry (PASE)

MFDFA06 Employability E-Forum for LSS students

MFDFA09 GCU Culture: Bringing together students at GCU

MFDFA12 Effective Students’ Association Engagment with Part-time students – Phase 2: Implementation

MFDFA14 Supporting Progression in a Connected Digital Age

5th Round Mini CoPs – Meeting Dates

The theme for Sonya’s talk was an overview of the recent New2GCU Event 2009, which was organised for all new students entering GCU this academic year. Case studies

Over the last few months MF have been working with colleague across the University, to develop some of the GCU internal examples of practice more fully into case studies. Some of these are now complete and can be accessed on the website, under the examples of practice tab. Many thanks must go to all the members of staff who worked patiently with Julie to develope the case studies. More detailed information and further case studies, will be posted in the near future. Moving Forward Blackboard Module

The Moving Forward team are currently in the process of building a MF Blackboard module. We will be attaching our mini CoP members in order that there is another route for communication.

Framework update

The Moving Forward Framework has now been passed by the Executive Board and Strategic Implementation Group. In the New Year we are looking forward to working with all of the Schools and Learner Services departments regarding the implementation of the Framework.
