Hi, welcome to the GCU Careers Service Job Blog. I’m Dan, the Careers Employability Assistant, and I update the blog weekly with new posts. Pop by now and then for doodles and links to cool stuff like weird jobs (…spy, tractor driver, film extra…), placements, events, photos and videos. Click the links. Send me a comment. And come and see me in the Careers Area, Level 0, the Saltire Centre.

This is me

    hi dan,

ive been accepted onto the study india programme to visit india for 3 weeks. During those 3 weeks i will be learning about the culture and economy of india and also working for a charity for underprivileged children. many students have recieved help with funding for the trip. i have tried around the university but have had no success. have you any suggestions as to where i might inquire for help with funding for the trip. the website for the programme is http://www.studyindia.org.uk if u wish to have a look.

    much thanks,

    John

    Hi John,

Sorry for not responding sooner. I see you’ve already been contacted through our email advice service http://www.gcal.ac.uk/student/careers/graduates/email.html so I won’t say more. But thanks for getting in touch. We try to create lots of ways students and graduates can reach us – the blog, the Base, email guidance and now twitter! You can make an appointment with an adviser or come to drop-in. Or you can come see me in the Careers Area most weekdays 10am-1pm. Comments and discussions on the blog are always welcome.

    Cheers. Dan
